Mima: enjoy authentic Eastern Mediterranean even more

We wrote about Mima almost two years ago, when Mima was located as a temporary pop-up in the building of coffee bar Frederix. Mima offers a modern twist on the most popular traditional dishes from the Mediterranean. We concluded our experience with the words: “The men dream of their own location, so we will keep you informed when they have found their own place!” And they have now found their own nice place, on the always lively Jan Pieter Heijestraat. We will tell you more about it!

Authentic flavors from Eastern Mediterranean cuisine

The idea for Mima arose from the shared passion for Eastern Mediterranean cuisine of founders Marc and Michiel. They joined forces with chef Alex Jerejian from Beirut and together they offer the authentic and incredibly tasty flavors of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Where Mima was previously open during the day for delivery and take-out, Mima is now open all day in its own building on the JP Heije. Mima still offers take-out here, but also has plenty of tables where you can enjoy all the goodies that Mima has to offer.

A very diverse choice of delicious dishes

The menu starts with the choice between Lebanese flatbread, sourdough za’atar pita or a bowl, all served with delicious homemade hummus. Then you have a diverse choice of ‘mains’ with options such as green falafel, cauliflower shawarma and juicy grilled chicken, supplemented with various add-ons. We chose a flatbread with green falafel and pita with grilled chicken. The dough was extremely fresh and tasty and the filling took us to the Middle East with the delicious combination of herbs and sauces. Plus, the portions were generous – you won’t leave here hungry. We finished with the tahini brownie for dessert, deliciously creamy and intense in taste.

Mima offers a wide range of delicious, healthy, and quick dishes with an array of choices that bring the tastiest flavors of the Middle East. At Mima you can eat versatile food for a good price, which makes it perfect for any occasion. In any case, we would love to return again!
