Min Woo-hyuk and Choi Kang-hee appeared as guests on the MBC entertainment program ‘Point of Omniscient Interfere’ (hereinafter referred to as Omniscient Interference), which aired on the 20th.
Min Woo-hyuk played the role of Jean Valjean in the musical ‘Les Miserables.’ He said, “Top stars also audition for this work. “I think it’s the best ever,” he said, adding that the audition period was 8 months. He said that he went through several stages of auditioning, from documentation, face-to-face audition, video delivery, video audition, and additional video filming and submission, and was eventually selected.
Min Woo-hyuk added, “Usually for auditions, you just have to suit the role, but for ‘Les Miserables’, they even called in other roles to check the balance of the roles.” He also said, “Normally, I put on neat makeup, but I grew my beard for about 2-3 days to audition. I looked in the mirror to take a shower and it looked like Jean Valjean. “I went with it, but I think McIntosh chose me for that reason,” he explained.
Min Woo-hyuk was often asked why he didn’t do dramas after the drama ‘Doctor Cha Jeong-sook’ became a huge hit, and his manager revealed that Min Woo-hyuk had been offered casting as the main character in over 10 works. However, because the casting for ‘Les Miserables’ took place first, he was unable to choose the works, and he said that greedy roles such as the king in a historical drama and the villain in a thriller were also included.
For the first time in the world, the backstage of ‘Les Miserables’ was revealed through ‘All-Time’, and Min Woo-hyuk said that he knew about ‘All-Time’ in the UK as well, giving the reason why it was the only one that could be revealed.
