Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport and Communications, responded to rumors that circulate from time to time regarding what was called the low demand for the light electric train.

He said, during a telephone conversation with the “On My Responsibility” program, presented by the journalist Ahmed Moussa, on the “Echo of the Country” screen, on Sunday evening, that the light electric train is 100 kilometers long, and work on it has not been completed yet.

He added, “There will not be a hole for anyone who puts his foot on the light electric train when he connects the areas of Al-Shorouk, the Tenth of Ramadan, Al-Obour, and Badr, and increases the turnout for the Administrative Capital.”

He commented on pictures showing a turnout for the light electric train, saying: “It is necessary for people to crowd like sardines.. It is forbidden for people to ride in a way that is not crowded.. If the train was crowded and people could not find a chair, then this is a failure, not a success.”

He pointed out that the turnout at the beginning was light, because the train had not yet reached the crowded areas, stressing that the state was thinking in a deliberate way.
