The party constitution stipulated that the party’s constitution will be left unchanged if the Democratic Party lieutenant colonel is charged with corruption.

Reporter Park Yoon-soo reports that it was blocked after the controversy over ‘bulletproofing’ for party leader Lee Jae-myung and the fact that it was spreading into factional conflicts.

Article 80 of the Democratic Party Constitution stipulates that if indicted on corruption charges, the duty of a watch officer may be suspended;

As the investigation surrounding Rep. Jae-myung Lee, who was running for the party’s representative, began in earnest recently, petitions within the party to amend this provision followed.

How do you believe what the prosecutors say, what will you do if a bunch of prosecutions are made to neutralize the party?

The National Convention Preparatory Committee introduced an amendment yesterday stating that ‘if found guilty in the first trial rather than indictment by the prosecution, it will be suspended’.

Controversy over whether this is for Lee Jae-myung’s bulletproof use has spread.

“I judged that it could be a route to invade the opposition party of the Prosecutor’s Republic, I’ve said that before…”

“Even if it will be another path of disappointment and disappointment, it is not a problem to be viewed as a route to oppression of the opposition…”

After much debate, the Democratic Party captain decided to keep Article 80 of the Party Constitution, saying the amendment was unacceptable.

“The majority of the non-commissioned members had a strong will that ‘this (revision of the party constitution) should not be seen as a retreat in innovation’, so I summarized it as a compromise.”

However, by changing the resolution of the political retaliation investigation to be decided by the Party Affairs Committee, not by the Ethics Judge, it opened the way to make it easier to decide to keep the duty of the watchdog even if charged with the prosecution investigation.

Reactions were mixed.

Candidate Yong-jin Park, who opposed the revision of the party constitution, welcomed the party, saying that it was “taking the first step to make the Democratic Party look like a Democrat.” .

The controversy over the revision of the party constitution, which was the hottest issue at the Democratic National Convention, was almost finished with today’s non-captain decision.

However, the conflict within the party that arose during the workshop remains a task for the new leadership to solve.
