MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State women’s basketball (2-4) is set to host UW-Parkside (1-2) on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Center. The Mavericks have lost three straight games, most recently to No. 25 ranked Minnesota Duluth, whom the Rangers defeated on Nov. 12.
About the Mavericks
The Mavericks have struggled out of the gate; the team has lost three consecutive games, including to Minnesota Duluth on Tuesday night in the team’s home opener, 75-64. After a tightly contested first half, the Bulldogs outscored the Mavericks 44-33 in the second half. Minnesota State committed 31 personal fouls in its game against UMD.

Bursch leads the team in assists with 15 total (2.5 per game). Herzberg leads the team in rebounding, averaging six per game. Emily Russo is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.
Walking the Sidelines: Mavericks head coach Emilee Thiesse is in her 12th season at the helm of Minnesota State women’s basketball. Thiesse has amassed a 198-112 (.638) record, the second most wins in program history. Coach Thiesse’s teams have made the NCAA Tournament four times (2012-13, 2014-15, 2021-22 and 2022-23). She has a record of 149-83 against NSIC opponents.

Wisconsin Parkside started its season 1-2, falling to Thomas More and St. Cloud State and defeating the No. 8 Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth at home 77-49. The Mavericks fell to the Bulldogs on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 75-64. Parkside is a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

UW-Parkside is coached by fifth-year head coach, Only Conely. Conely has led the Rangers to a 72-64 record since she was hired in the summer of 2018. Minnesota State has never lost to Parkside, winning all eight games since 1988. Last season, the Mavericks defeated the Rangers 80-71.
