Albert Pujols hit his first home run of the 2022 MLB season on his return to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Through the game of St. Louis Cardinals vs the Kansas City Royals, Albert Pujols and Nolan Arenado hit back-to-back home runs to increase the lead to 3-0 in the first inning. Some 3,855 days passed for Pujols to dress again as the Cardinals and in just his second game of the 2022 season he added his first home run. Notably, he hadn’t played more since Opening Day when he went 0-for-5 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The “Machine” shot its first hit which was a home run lonely against left-hander Daniel Lynch who went 96 miles and traveled 396 feet through the left field of Busch Stadium, said hit was nothing more and nothing less than his 680th career home run, he is at the law of 20 to reach 700 home runs and become the first Latino to reach that number.
