After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainians volunteered to enlist, and a woman from Miss Ukraine also wore a combat uniform to protect her country.
Anastasia Rena, who was selected as ‘Miss Grand Ukraine’ in the beauty contest at the age of 24 in 2015, posted a picture of herself wearing a combat uniform and holding a gun on Instagram on the 23rd of last month.
Lena also posted the hashtag #stand with ukraine #hands off ukraine along with the photo.
Lena, who had been working as a public relations manager in Turkey after being selected as Miss Grand Ukraine, volunteered to join the military to protect her country from the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Lena also warned the Russian army that “I will kill anyone who crosses the Ukrainian border for the purpose of aggression.”
Meanwhile, it is known that about 35,000 women have volunteered for the Ukrainian National Guard so far.
