A private pilot says he has seen a kayak similar to the one used by Ramón Román (56) and Gabriel Raimann (38), the Pinamar fishermen who have been missing since Sunday. The alleged discovery, which was witnessed in images from the air, occurred between San Bernardo and Costa Azul. The authorities are investigating whether it is the men.

“We are 80% sure that they are,” José, one of Ramón’s sons, told TN. However, he clarified: “Prefecture flew over the area and could not find him.”

They analyze the photo of a kayak in the sea: “It was about 1000 or 1500 meters from the coast,” said the pilot

“A pilot from the Santa Teresita airfield is convinced that it is a kayak with two yellow floats and all the characteristics of my old man’s boat. When he saw it, he took some photos and notified the head of the Punta Médanos operation,” added Lucas, another of Ramón’s sons.

“Half an hour later, Prefecture went out to search and found nothing. We still don’t know if it is or not. They could not find the orange object seen in the photo,” she continued in statements to this medium.

Lucas said that this Thursday, first thing in the morning, “the guys at the Santa Teresita airfield were working, but they could only do so until 8:00, because they closed it. We have a plane ready to go. “I don’t know why they close it now.”

TN contacted Leonardo, a private pilot who said he had seen the boat. “It was between San Bernardo and Costa Azul, near the South Beach hotel. “It was about 1,000, 1,500 meters from the coast,” he said.

“I saw an orange kayak, similar to the one in the photos that are circulating. I couldn’t see if there was anyone around. “I took some photos with the plane in motion and sent the position,” she added.

After the sighting, the search operation sent a jet ski and a drone to the reported area. However, there was no news.

Missing

Román and Raimann disappeared while sailing with an orange and yellow kayak. They planned to spend a day fishing and never returned.

On Sunday, around 6:00, the two men arrived at the Valeria del Mar nautical drop-off in a black Toyota Hilux truck. Minutes later they entered the sea and since then nothing has been known about them.

On Monday, at 9:30, a call came in to the Beach Safety Directorate service from a neighbor who reported that the truck in question had spent the night parked on the sand. That detail caught his attention.

At that time, an investigation into the ownership of the vehicle began and the owner’s relatives were located. With this information, it was confirmed that no relative had news about the men since that morning.

The suspicion is that the strong winds and bad weather that hit the coast could have dragged the fishermen out to sea. On Sunday, Civil Defense issued an alert for winds of 40 to 60 km/h and gusts of 55 to 70 km/h from the western sector rotating south from noon. And he recommended “avoiding entering the sea and practicing sports sailing.”

Lucas Román said that, early on Sunday, the weather “was good for entering the water, but then the land wind blew, which makes it take you into the sea. And then the wind blew from the south, which drives you north,” said the young man. And he added: “That is why we believe that they can walk through San Clemente del Tuyú, or more towards the Partido de la Costa.”

“A fisherman told me that when they entered the sea, they anchored about 500 meters away from them. When he saw that the tide was taking them out to sea, he notified the Prefecture and they told him that, before acting, a family member had to file a complaint,” added the young man. There he started the fight between the relatives of the missing friends and the authorities. The reason: the alleged delays in activating the search protocol.
