The son of the demented woman reported his mother’s absence to the police in Wels on Tuesday around 2 p.m. She left her house in Wels (Neustadt/Höllwiesen district) at around 9:30 a.m. and had not returned since then. The 83-year-old did not have a cell phone with her. After an initial search by the Wels police, a rescue dog brigade, the emergency unit and a drone with a thermal camera were requested for the search. The intensive search in the Wels urban area remained unsuccessful until 10:20 p.m.
She was finally found on Wednesday morning by a police patrol in Oftering. She was fine and was taken home to her son.
