Major US stock indexes mixed at the open of trading on Wall Street on Monday, with investors focused on peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, while banking shares rose ahead of this week’s Federal Reserve meeting that is expected to raise interest rates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average started the trading session, up 0.17% to 33,000.37 points, while the benchmark Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 0.04% to 4202.75 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.38% to 12,795.12 points.
