Model S & X for Europe according to Tesla from November > teslamag.de

Since the end of 2021, it has only been possible to reserve a Model S or Model X in Europe instead of ordering it – after several postponements of the estimated delivery dates and price increases Tesla deleted this information entirely from the web configurator. Existing customers received mail saying deliveries would begin in the second half of 2022, which was met with disbelief in some given the history. But now Tesla is again naming prices and dates for Model S and Model X on its Europe pages. Accordingly, the first of these are to be delivered this year, as before in the USA, starting with the new Plaid version. Update: In an email, Tesla officially confirmed the European restart of the two models (see below).

New data in the Tesla configurator

There was movement on this matter at the beginning of the week: European Model S and Model X customers reported new information and queries to do so in their Tesla account. Rumor has it that there was only a software problem behind it, but it doesn’t look like that anymore since Wednesday: Observers from different countries reported on Twitter that purchase data for the two premium electric cars was returning to the Europe configurator.

According to this, both Model S and Model X can be delivered this year if you order them now – for both Tesla gives an expected delivery between December 2022 and February 2023. Unlike the Model 3 and Model Y, nothing changes if you choose extras for an extra charge. However, the specific information on the Model S and Model X only refers to them anyway with the refresh in early 2021, the newly introduced top version Plaid with three engines.

The respective basic versions, on the other hand, cannot be clicked in the configurator and there is only a small “available 2023” underneath (see photo above). So Tesla seems to be taking its time with that. Deliveries also began in the US in June 2021 with the Model S Plaid, a few months later than announced at the launch earlier in the year. The first Model X followed in mid-October 2021i.e. shortly before the price and date data for both models disappeared in Europe.

Model S and Model X Plaid more expensive

had before Tesla has once again increased the European prices for the Model S and Model X. The last price in October in Germany was 126,990 euros for the Model S Plaid and 101,990 euros for the more civil version. The normal Model X was also 5000 euros more expensive to 110,990 euros. Only the price for the plaid variant has not changed since the beginning of the year, so that at 116,990 euros it should cost less than the Model S in this version at this point. Tesla has now corrected this anomaly: According to the information on the web, you have to pay at least 137,990 euros for the Model S Plaid and a little more for the Model X Plaid at 140,990 euros.

Update: Tesla confirmed the restart of the Model S and Model X in Europe by email on Wednesday morning, which is initially limited to the plaid versions. The first deliveries should even take place in November – these should then go to early customers. The basic versions are to follow next year. The Plaid drive is described in the letter as the “most substantial revision” Tesla has made to the Model S and Model X since its launch in Europe. As on the website (with slight deviations), WLTP ranges for the two new top models are only given as estimates: 600 kilometers for the Model S Plaid and 528 kilometers for the Model X Plaid.
