For those who are not aware, this new opus which bears the same name is absolutely not a remake or remaster but rather the continuation of the reboot started in 2019 with Modern Warfare. On paper it’s not necessarily easy to follow, but the fact remains that Infinity Ward chooses, probably rightly, to once again borrow the name of one, if not the most popular game in the saga. video game.

The war, the real one
According to the insider Ralphsvalve, Modern Warfare 2 would include a virtual reality experience. We do not know exactly if it is a separate game mode or the possibility of doing the entire software in VR. Anyway, the proposal is very tempting. Small precision however: this game mode would be exclusive to Sony’s PSVR. Information that echoes the partnership between Activision-Blizzard and the Japanese manufacturer, which should be effective despite the takeover of the studio by Microsoft.
Also remember that this would not be the first time that Infinity Ward has tried VR. Already in 2016, Infinite Warfare included virtual reality experience Jackal Assault that we tested at the time. Nothing has been made official by Activision, Infinity Ward or Sony yet, but the giant’s next State of Play on June 2 may well include some revelations regarding this experience in virtual reality.
