Mohammed bin Salman gives an example of his mother’s tribe and responds to the increase in the number of princes in Saudi Arabia

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, responded to a question about his vision regarding the increase in the number of princes in Saudi Arabia, during an interview he gave to “The Atlantic” magazine.

The Saudi crown prince explained: “We in Saudi Arabia do not have the concept of royal blood, and our way as a royal family is to serve the people and preserve their unity. We are part of the people. For example, my mother is not from the royal family, but from a tribal family, from the Ajman tribe from The Yam tribes, numbering about a million people in Saudi Arabia, and if you look at the royal family, you will find that we marry common people, and that we are part of them, we live here and were raised here..

And the prince added, “We are part of the Arabian Peninsula. We have been ruling the regions like Bani Hanifa since history books, and even before Islam. We established the first Diriyah at an unknown time, then we established the second Diriyah 600 years ago, and we established Saudi Arabia 300 years ago, so We are part of the people.”

He added: “No member of the royal family has a special right to exercise it against the people, and if he crosses a line, he will be punished like anyone in Saudi Arabia, and if he commits a crime, he will be punished and face the law like any person in Saudi Arabia. As for being a member of the royal family, he is a title that must be respected.”
