A major player in the field of sports facilities, particularly in view of major international events, WORLD recently joined the ranks of the Paris 2024 Games Partners Program, becoming an Official Supporter of the track and athletics equipment.

With a view to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Stade de France will experience several upheavals.

Already, the renovation of the 80,000-seat tricolor enclosure has enabled the installation of new sports and architectural lighting, with the replacement of sodium lamps by a less energy-consuming and more efficient LED system, in particular to to create light animations or event projections.

The two giant screens arranged on the side axes of the Stade de France have also been replaced by larger panels – 250m² compared to 180m² – with improved resolution for 2K broadcasting.

The rehabilitation of the stands, with the change of seats and the improvement of access conditions for people with reduced mobility has also punctuated the last few years behind the scenes of the largest French sports arena, as has the layout of a larger auditorium (300 seats), more comfortable boxes and lounges, not to mention the presence of new refreshment bars (6 for a total of 32 structures), or the expansion of a third of the area of the strategic PC security .

Also, among the next changes to be made before the summer of 2024, the Stade de France will benefit from the installation of a new surface for the athletics track which will be the scene of the grand finals of the king sport of the Summer Games. next year.

To raise this challengethe organizers announced on August 10, 2023 that they had chosen to surround themselves with a company leader in his field, namely WORLDwho has extensive experience in events and in supporting the Games, having in the past worked on the track of the Rio 2016 Games and that of Tokyo 2020 and, more recently, on that of the National Athletics Center of Budapest (Hungary), host this summer of the 2023 World Championships in Athletics.

In order to meet the technical requirements imposed by World Athletics, WORLD – which will take place for the third time at the Stade de France from April 2024 – has thus designed a surface presented as a technological feat intended to offer the guarantees of development of the most technologically advanced track.

Concretely, the company will provide the Saint-Dionysian enclosure with a new generation track resulting from the work carried out by the internal group Research and development. The latter has in fact studied the interaction between the material and the virtual athlete – in particular through simulations – in order to develop a track that meets the best standards and also offers competitors a support that is both flexible and robust. .

Beyond the athletics track, whose hue will approach lavender-blue, WORLD will also provide all the sports equipment needed for the Paris 2024 athletics events.

This will result in the supply of hurdles, landing mats, poles for the high jump and the pole vault, not to mention also the starting blocks and lane indicators.

Important point of the partnership now linking WORLD and Paris 2024, the products provided will all respond to an eco-responsible logic.

The Stade de France track, for example, will be prefabricated – like all the tracks designed by WORLD in its Italian factory in Gallo d’Alba – and will be characterized by the use of recycled rubber powders.

WORLD is also committed to ensuring a second life for equipment, whether through the redistribution of equipment in phase Legacy Games, or repackaging and reuse of products for future sporting events.
