The separation of the Colombian singer Shakira and the FC Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué is still giving people something to talk about. As previously mentioned, it was an infidelity that caused the breakup between the famous couple, but according to recent statements by a person close to their inner circle, money would also have played a fundamental role so that love, which was born in times of the 2010 World Cup, was diluted.
Through an interview with the Spanish newspaper EsDiario, Robert Garcia, former sentimental partner of Lucila, sister of the singer, both would have several points of contention regarding money. The soccer player would have asked the Barranquilla for a large sum, but her family refused to give it to him:
“Supposedly, Pique I would have asked for money Shakira for an investment theme and the singer’s family has refused to give it to him. They do not mix their money and take the family economy to 50%”.
According to García, the money that Shakira had was destined to invest in other construction businesses. She had an idea of doing something in the Bahamas and Colombia, and that was where all the other problems that caused the final announcement of the breakup began.

As a complement to his interview, the Colombian’s ex-brother-in-law expressed the difficult time in life he had to go through because of the artist’s family, especially with Lucilla. According to Roberto, in 2015 his ex-wife left him abandoned with important economic obligations to fulfill, she went to Barranquilla to live a new life, while he had to be evicted from his home to pay the debts:
“I’ve had a very bad time. I even had to sleep in the car. My ex-wife ruined me and disappeared. I have it all documented. Now I live in a one-bedroom studio for which I pay 300 euros. I’m having needs and I am only clear that this family has done me a lot of harm. In total I have lost about 500,000 euros”
Finally, he closed by stating that Shakira had promised him to repair the damage caused by her sister, but due to a strong argument she had with her father, the singer never wanted to know more about him. García affirmed that all the decisions of Shakira’s environment are made by the parents and that even. the separation between him and Lucila was orchestrated by William Mebarak.
As for his single life, Gerard Piqué recently had an altercation with a paparazzi who took him out of his wits by giving him an aggressive slap. While Shakira would be evaluating the possibility of leaving Barcelona, taking into account that she has no friends or family there (apart from Piqué’s) and that she has no reason to continue residing in the city of Barcelona.
One of the aspects that can also create the most controversy is the custody of children, according to the media elEconomista.es the artist would take her children to another country, while Gerard would fight for them to stay with him, highlighting the fact that the children have grown and developed their entire lives in Barcelona.
