Monitor and Control Speed Limits with Cinemometers: Superintendence of Land Transportation Updates

2023-07-04 01:41:38

The Superintendence of Land Transportation of People, Cargo and Goods (Sutran) continues to monitor compliance with maximum speed limits with cinemometers in 16 regions of the country, on national roads that cross the regions of Ancash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca , Cusco, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Moquegua, Piura, Puno, San Martín and Ucayali.

These electronic equipment (cinemometers) are strategically located in the sections with the highest accident rate; When a vehicle exceeds the maximum speed limit allowed, the team captures the image of the vehicle, its speed, date and place of excess, then generates the traffic violation ticket with the violation code M-20, whose penalty ranges from S / 891 and S/2,475 and the owner of the vehicle is notified.

What are the new sections where they will control with cinemometers?

Sutran reported that as of July 2023, the inspection will be carried out in the following sections of national roads:

About the cinemometers

In order to guarantee reliable speed readings, each cinemometer has a verification certificate granted by the National Institute of Quality (INACAL), which can be consulted through the following link:

In this way, a control of compliance with the maximum speed limits is carried out in order to reduce road accidents due to speeding and safeguard the safety and physical integrity of thousands of Peruvians.

Likewise, Sutran calls on drivers not to exceed the maximum speed limits allowed on the roads, and passengers to become aware of the importance of traffic regulations.
