Monkey pox: WHO reports 250 cases in 16 countries

At least a dozen European countries as well as Australia, Canada and the United States, countries where its presence is unusual, have reported cases of monkeypox. It is present in normal times, considered “endemic“, in 11 African countries.

The head of emerging diseases and zoonoses at the WHO, Maria Van Kerkhove, was reassuring on Monday by declaring that the monkeypox epidemic was still in a position to be stopped.
