The Venezuelan Ministry of Health reported through social networks that it detected the first case of a patient infected with monkeypox in Venezuela.

The passenger landed at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía from Madrid.

The authorities indicated that the patient “had contact with two infected in the city of Barcelona“, Spain.
