More claims for bochazos in Medicine

The controversy surrounding the poor performance combined with the training method in the courses of the UNLP Faculty of Medicine yesterday added a new chapter in the Anatomy B chair, one of the first-year core subjects, key to advancing in the career .

From various groups of the student body they came out to claim for the review of the class and exam system after detecting, as they coincided, a high level of disapproved in the partial and recurrent students of the subject.

The discomfort added to complaints about alleged situations of mistreatment by teachers towards students, they indicated from these groups.

Huilén Ramallo Espejo, from the group “Vientos de Abajo”, said that “he gave up the last date of the second partial of Anatomy B, a mandatory and annual first-year subject and essential to advance in the race. The first date, of the second part, began to be taken on August 2 and this week the recoveries. There are colleagues worried about failing and about the very high level of the evaluation, without correlation with the quality of the course that was offered. In addition, that they passed 2 or 3 per course, there is systematic abuse. It happens all the time and results in expulsive logics of the faculty”, he denounced.

Before the table, the groups began to organize the proposal with claims to the dean, the chair and even WhatsApp groups that integrate students of those courses.

According to the student who spoke with this newspaper, Anatomy B is a “chair that has not been in person since the beginning of the year, that does not give theory and does not offer consultation spaces. However, it sets a very high level together with mistreatment as a way of fixing knowledge”.

PROBLEMS IN OTHER EXAMS

The problems in the Anatomy exams had already been expressed in the first semester. In the C chair of that subject, out of around a thousand evaluated, only about 200 passed in June. Meanwhile, in the middle of the month, only 2 out of 46 students passed an Infectology exam. In that same subject, in the first semester there was talk of a 90 percent of failed.

Each bad news was accompanied by claims from the student body.

“They say we don’t study. We want to study in conditions and be evaluated accordingly, ”Ramallo Espejo claimed yesterday.
