Economy Minister and presidential candidate Sergio Massa began to detail this Sunday the economic measures that will be applied in the coming weeks to help alleviate the harsh effects that inflation has on all pockets, a picture that with the devaluation imposed by the IMF technicians only deepened.

The head of the Palacio de Hacienda announced that throughout the day he would announce the measures of the new Program to Strengthen Economic Activity and Income for Argentine families, which will have as its objective help SMEs, workers, monotributistas, retirees and workers in the social economy. The first two policies that he announced are about tax relief for monotributistas and reinforcement for retirees.

Monotributistas

In a video posted on social networks, Massa announced that monotributistas in categories A, B, C and D will not pay the tax component of this tax for 6 months.

In this regard, Massa stressed that the objective is “continue to care for our retirees and hand in hand with the Vivir Mejor program, which gives them access to free medicines”.

Food Card

In a third video, Sergio Massa announced a reinforcement of the Food Card with an additional increase in two monthly installments: 10,000 pesos for families with one child, 17,000 pesos for families with two children, and 23,000 pesos for families with three children.

“In the task of caring for the most vulnerable sectors, we also made the decision to reinforce the ‘Food Card’, said the minister.

In addition, once the reinforcement is over, the food card will increase by 30%, “in the idea of ​​taking care of the possibility of access to food in the most vulnerable sectors,” said Massa.

Credits for workers

The Minister of Economy also announced the possibility for workers to access lines of credit of up to $400,000 in 24, 36 or 48 installments. The funds will be deposited into the bank’s credit card within 5 business days after requesting the credit, he announced.

“One of the big problems that our workers have is the debt with the bank or with the card, that is why we are launching a program of 400 billion pesos in loans for workers at 24, 36 and 48 months with a three-month grace period. “Massa explained.

“The interest rate is half of what you currently pay on your credit card balance. You will be able to do it with a simple electronic process and you will have the possibility of having it debited directly from your salary,” he said.
