A real commercial success?
Available for purchase from the official PlayStation storethe PS Portal was clearly a success, very quickly displaying a proud “sold out” on the website. So obviously, the story does not tell how many units the accessory was produced, which is essential data for judging the value of a stock shortage, but the object is still unavailable for purchase, two weeks after its release.
In any case, in Spain, the little beast’s scores are more than honorable: we learn that for the period from November 14 to 19, 2023, PS Portal sold 5,700 units, almost as many as Nintendo Switch (6000 sales) and much more than the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X, which between them have… 2000 takers.
Note that the PlayStation Portal also benefits from the considerable growth of the PlayStation 5 which, for this same week, achieved its best score in Spain with 32,000 sales (the previous record was held by week 51 in 2021, with 22,500 units sold).
From now on, it remains to be seen whether this trend will hold for the PS Portal and above all, there is reason to be curious about the sales scores on a global scale.
