More than 40,000 jobs were generated through the creation of new productive units

Asunción, IP Agency.- Approximately 40,000 jobs were generated in the last eight months thanks to the creation of 8,355 new productive units, the Minister of Labor, Mónica Recalde, highlighted this Monday at the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

“We can estimate that in the last eight months more than 40,000 jobs have been created,” said the minister when providing data on the new productive units generated in the country, and the amount of labor each one represents on average.

In this sense, he explained that in the last eight months more than 8,355 new productive units have been created, of which 7,281 units correspond to new companies and 1,074 to the expansion of existing companies.

“We are talking about a very important expansion in terms of the creation of new companies,” said the minister, who noted that “if we compare with previous periods, it represents an increase of 44%.”

Regarding the formalization of employment, the minister indicated that improvement plans were developed that benefited more than 6,500 workers who were in an irregular situation and lacked social security.

“These actions that we have been developing jointly with the Social Security Institute allow us to implement this type of control within companies and to incorporate workers who were in an irregular situation ex officio,” he highlighted.

He also announced the upcoming publication of the decree on the reduction of non-labor costs for MSMEs, which will facilitate the formalization of workers.

“Also, in this quarter, more than 20,000 people have been trained, through the SNPP and Sinafocal, prioritizing the most vulnerable districts identified by the Social Cabinet,” the minister said.
