The artistic director of Balmain Fashion House, Olivier Rousteing, said that thieves were able to steal more than 50 pieces from the new high-end fashion collection designed by the house and which it intended to display during Fashion Week on September 27, in the capital, Paris.

Rousteing said, in a post on Instagram, that a group of people hijacked their truck, which was carrying luxury items, on its way from the airport to Balmain’s headquarters in Paris, explaining that the thieves fled with the latest pieces that the famous fashion house was going to reveal at the clothing exhibition. Women, without giving more details about the stolen items.

The Frenchman, who assumed the position of technical director of Balmain in 2011, wrote in his post, “Our truck has been hijacked,” adding that the truck driver is fine and was not harmed during the theft.

Rousteing continued in his post, “A lot of people worked hard and made an effort to make this collection. We are redesigning everything, but this is disrespectful. We will not give up.”

The technical director did not specify which of the two main international airports in Paris the Balmain truck was coming from. He noted that he was waiting in his office on Saturday morning when “our driver called us and said he had been robbed by a group of people.”
