A total of 42 members of ETA remained on the run from Spanish justice at the end of 2021, according to the Annual Report of the State Attorney General’s Office that was presented this Wednesday. Specifically, the Prosecutor’s Office referred to them as “whereabouts unknown or in countries where their extradition is not possible.” And it is that many of the ETA members, although they are on the run, are located, specifically in Venezuela , more than half are located according to the association of victims of terrorism Dignity and Justice, under the shelter of the government of Nicolás Maduro.

In fact, the lists of the most wanted people, both on the website of the National Police as of the Civil Guard, ETA members continue to lead. Characters like Jose Ignacio by Juana Chaos or Jose Luis Eciolaza «Toothfuck»terrorists with a multitude of murders on their backs, in addition to being on these lists, are located in Venezuela, where they enjoy the protection of the government of Nicholas Maduro currently and before Hugo Chavez.

ETA members protected by Maduro

The Association of Victims of Terrorism Dignity and Justice counts up to 26 terrorists fled in Venezuela in the campaign #StopHuidosETA to locate and arrest gang terrorists on the run from the Justice which has been in development for two years.

The Maduro regime protects these ETA members, for example, by granting them nationality, as happened with Juan Manuel Bereciartua, Alberto Cubillas o Xavier Arruti. These last two, in addition, work as civil servants of the government of Maduro.

Other terrorists are located in countries like Mexico o Cape Verde. The Association of Family and Friends of Prisoners home considers that there are 24 ETA members who have fled and 8 who are still remain deported in these countries, thus reducing the figures of the State Attorney General’s Office.

Pending cases

In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office adds that of the 42 who fled, 24 have judicial requisitions. That is, 18 of them are not wanted by the Justice, even if they have fled, or their crimes would have prescribed. Hence, in recent years there has been a trickle of terrorists whose lawyers check whether their crimes have prescribed and, if so, return to Spain. In those was the Navarrese Lazarus Galarzaaccused of collaborating with the commando Navarre in the 1980s. He returned to Pamplona last April to check their legal status. But when you go back to Mexico to solve the paperwork, he died in a work accident last July. Therefore, at this time there would be a total of 41 ETA members on the run from Justice.
