To cope with the decline in demography, the Department of Lozère has just decided to strengthen its system “Lozère new life“. More than a website, it is a cell whose objective is to support but also to attract new inhabitants. “Today, three officers work within this body, explains on France Bleu Gard-Lozère, this Monday morning, Pauline Favre, responsible for the “attractiveness and medical demography” mission for the Department of Lozère.
In concrete terms, these agents help newcomers on two levels: professional and personal. “In the first case, it can be the creation or transfer of a business. In the second case, it is everything that is looking for housing, childcare or activities for children”, details the interested party.
For the Department of Lozère, encouraging the installation of new families is essential. “The fewer the inhabitants, the more the services offered, in particular the services publics are _threat_. Facilitating the installation of inhabitants is not a question of survival, but it is a bit of the idea”acknowledges Pauline Favre.
Currently, the “Lozère new life” system accompanies a hundred people.
