According to our information, it was around 1:20 p.m. that an email arrived to warn that a bomb had been planted on the grounds of this specialized secondary school. “An email was sent to the school principal stating that a bomb was going to explode in the school if an amount was not paid,” explains the prosecution. Management immediately called the police and had the children evacuated. Parents were also contacted.

The students were then gathered at the assembly point, namely the Verdi Athenaeum.
“The school was evacuated for reasons beyond our control. The students are safe in the Verdi refectory,” the school communicated on Facebook around 3 p.m. “Phase 2 and 3 students have been released and returned home. The students who take the buses wait for the buses, for the other students they return as usual. »
Around 3:30 p.m., our journalist present on site did not notice any particular agitation, apart from a few police vehicles parked at the entrances to the school with police officers preventing access to the site. Rue des Wallons, leading to the main entrance, has been cordoned off.

His friend Gabriel is surprised by the behavior of some people. “I have friends who were being smart and boasting that they were going to go and defuse the bomb.”
This Friday around 5:30 p.m., the police were still searching the school, including with dogs, looking for the potential bomb. But fortunately no explosive device had been found. At the same time, the investigation continues to identify the author of the alert.
