Most Saudi schools are closed, Jeddah

Jeddah: Most of the schools in different cities of Saudi Arabia are closed due to heavy rain. Keeping in view the current climate, all students and school staff have been given leave for their safety and online classes are being conducted through the Madrasati platform.

The Department of Education has closed schools in Jeddah, Makkah, Al-Qasim, Taif, Khulais, Bahra, Al-Kamil, Al-Jamoom, Rabigh, Al-Khuwayiyya, Al-Sharqiya, Al-Majmaa and Madinah.

The National Meteorological Center has issued a cautionary warning for the Riyadh region. The warning said that there will be thunder and lightning along with heavy rain. But the warning is valid till 8 pm. The warning said that rain will continue in the high altitude areas of Al-Qasim, Al-Sharqiya, Riyadh, Makkah, Al-Baha and Asir today and tomorrow.
