Speaking in the parliament, Republican Turkish Party Famagusta Deputy Erkut Şahali argued that the meat import decision was a negative decision that would directly affect 50 thousand people. Şahali, “Is the only thing affecting this is the window prices?” asked.
Stating that the cost of a kilo of meat and a kilo of milk should be calculated by the Department of Livestock, Şahali argued that the Department of Livestock does not have a serious activity announcement that concerns citizens.
Noting that there was a 25 percent increase in animal feed input in a year, Şahali noted that there was an increase of 117 percent in lamb meat, 150 percent in beef, 72 percent in milk and 63 percent in yogurt. Şahali said, “What is the Department of Livestock doing?.. What is the Ministry doing? If he won’t control now, when will he do it?” he asked.
Expressing that mothers with babies have to buy minced meat in grams, Şahali said, “Everyone should be worried about this situation.”
