Six-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, who suffered a fractured right arm in July 2020, will undergo surgery again. He will likely miss the rest of the season.
“I will be operated on next week. (Since the injury), I feel great discomfort. I realized this season that I don’t take pleasure, I suffer a lot, I don’t run as I want“, indicated the Spaniard, without being able to specify the duration of his unavailability.
“I have no ideas, the doctors will say after the operation, but it will be long. It was time to do it“, he replied, referring to his desire to prepare for the 2023 season. “I obviously did everything possible to avoid this operation, but this is the solution to return“.
Fourth operation on the right arm
Marquez (29) crashed heavily during qualifying for the Italian GP, but that didn’t affect his decision which was made the day before. This will be his fourth operation on his right humerus, which will take place in the United States, his Honda team announced. He will recover in Spain, where the duration of his unavailability will be established.
