The oldest rider in the MotoGP class, the Spaniard Aleix Espargaró, will make his 200th start in the premier class on Sunday. And he will start from the best place on the grid, a great first for the Italian manufacturer. The first line will be 100% European, with the Ducati of Jorge Martin and Luca Marini, alongside the Aprilia.

Championship leader Enea Bastianini (Ducati) did not make it past the first qualifying round, as did Indonesian GP winner Miguel Oliveira of Portugal (KTM) and Italian Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia (Ducati). ), which many have named as the favorite for the 2022 season.

Fermin Aldeguer and Sergio Garcia in evidence

The other two pole positions go to Fermin Aldeguer (16!) in Moto2 and his fellow Spaniard Sergio Garcia (GasGas) in Moto3. The two drivers of Tom Lüthi, back in the paddock after his forced absence from the Indonesian GP (positive test for Covid 19), Xavier Artigas and Carlos Tatay, set the 7th and 18th times respectively.

Reminder of the race schedule, in Swiss time: 5 p.m. for Moto3, 6:20 p.m. for Moto2 and 8 p.m. for the MotoGP race.
