Motorcyclists deliver toys to children on the northern border of Mexico

Tijuana (Mexico), Dec 18 (EFE) of limited resources that has been carried out for 37 consecutive years.

The members of the Solo Ángeles Tijuana Motorcycle Club were in charge of carrying out this delivery on the renowned Avenida Revolución, where they gathered more than 14,000 toys for the same number of girls and boys, who from early morning went to line up to receive these gifts.

Hafid Hernández, an organizing member of the Club, shared with the media about the importance of being able to give a toy to the children of the city year after year, not only because it means bringing them some happiness, but also because it is a moment for motorcyclists to meet.

“They are motorcyclists who come from different cities in the United States, Canada and Alaska, who were joined by others from this side (of the border), which also generates a brotherhood with all of them; they come and support us, then we go and support them in their activities”, he stressed.

The group of motorcyclists met early in the morning in the city of San Diego, from where they set off in the so-called “Happiness Caravan” to cross the border and arrive at the Club Solo Ángeles point in Tijuana.

Later they left for the historic Avenida Revolución, where a sea of children accompanied by their parents anxiously awaited them.

Georgina, a member of the same motorcycle club, shared with EFE that “for me it is very important to be able to contribute in this way to my city, Tijuana, and above all, to its children because one looks at the happiness with which they receive the toys and the people that rarely can have the resources for it and we help them”.

He stressed that he finds it “impressive to see the number of children who arrive each year to receive a toy,” which in his opinion reflects the great need that exists in the border city in northern Mexico.

“And what better than among motorcyclists we can unite to put a grain of sand,” he said.

Mrs. Rebeca Arias, who attended with two of her children, thanked that for so many years this Tijuana organization has been dedicated to this type of social activities, since she is one of the ones that has also benefited from other editions that have been organized by part of this group of motorcyclists on the northern Mexican border.

“Today it was my children’s turn (to be given toys), and it is very nice, because that way they are happy, but it is very good that they (the motorcyclists) do this and everything else they do because I have had to be in where they have given away tennis shoes, shoes and for those who do not have enough, it is very good”, said Mrs. Arias.
