NWe are directors of employment-oriented companies (EBE) who, throughout France, employ people deprived of employment as part of the Territory zero long-term unemployed experiment (TZCLD). We support them in developing their skills and create locally useful activities to give them a place in the workplace.
Thousands of people in France are now participating in this unique experiment. Your government decided this summer to reduce its contribution to employment development by 7%, directly and strongly impacting the economic model of EBEs, who are nevertheless making immense efforts to achieve financial stability.
The challenge of returning to work is immense and, like winning a Rugby World Cup, we are supporting our teams to strengthen themselves in many sectors “game” : stop and reduce the weight of discrimination, overcome obstacles linked to disability or parenthood, cope with the physical and psychological shock of resuming activity, often more frightening than an All Blacks haka, stay together to move forward individually and collectively towards new knowledge and skills.
Companies, associations and local authorities for employment
Alongside other integration structures, we are fighting to win a competition that France has not won for too long: that of the fight against long-term unemployment. The one that particularly crushes people with disabilities, women with single parent responsibilities, and more generally people who have not been lucky. These are our teams, and they fill us with pride.
Twice, the Territories with zero long-term unemployment experiment was voted unanimously in Parliament, a sign that there are still challenges that can unite the country and all of its representatives. Because everyone is aware that not only for certain people the return to employment requires additional resources but also that in the territories, villages and neighborhoods, where we recruit massively, purchasing power increases, economic dynamics resumes, solidarity develops and hope returns. Around us, there is a whole network of companies, associations and local authorities which are mobilizing for the employment of all.
However, while our experiment is proving its capacity for inclusion and innovation, your government has just decided to reduce the means: with a 7% reduction in your contribution to the salaries of our structures, you send a very strange signal at the same time as the resources allocated to insertion are also reduced. Which top team could win any competition by reducing their effort by 7%?
