We know each other from the seminars of the Association of Amateur Musicians in Austria (VAMÖ), and now the Landstraße mandolin orchestra TUMA and the Steyr “Arion” are working together on stage. The Viennese will perform one half of the program at the spring concert on Saturday, April 6th, at 7 p.m. in the hall of the office building in the former Reithoffer tire factory. Gernot Rudolph, musical director of the Vienna Zupforchester, has not only performed classical literature, but also a lot of contemporary music. The “Corsica Suite” promises to be a highlight, which Arion chairman and double bassist Walter Bayer transcribed for the orchestral setting in consultation with Ange Lanzalavi. The composer from Corsica never wrote down his work with sheet music. The concert spring also brings forth buds such as “The Godfather”, the intro for Karl Jenkins’ “Palladio” and a lot of folk from Ireland and Greece.
