National 5 was closed for part of the evening this Sunday following two accidents near La Quercinelle in Neuville (Philippeville) towards Charleroi.
A first accident involving two vehicles, one of which was towing a caravan, occurred shortly before 7 p.m., on the climb to Philippeville. We deplore a lightly injured person who was transported to the CSF by the couvinoise ambulance.
Following the first collision, a secondary accident then occurred, involving four cars this time, including one with a trailer.
Firefighters from Philippeville and Couvin were called to the scene and a diversion was put in place, the National having been completely closed to traffic. The federal police of the Namur road as well as the local Hermeton et Heure were called to the scene in order to draw up the usual findings. Several repairmen were required to evacuate the six vehicles whose damage was sometimes substantial.
