On the night of this Sunday, a massacre was recorded in the rural area of ​​Tame, Arauca. A vehicle in which nine people were traveling was attacked with shots from long weapons, leaving four dead, two of whom are children. In addition, there are two people injured, one of them seriously.

Tame’s representative, Juan Carlos Villate, said that the family of the victims came to Tame to help their relatives.

“A moment ago the relatives arrived at Tame, they tell me that they were attacked inside the vehicle, that it was at gunpoint. We have four people killed, two adults, two children. There are also two wounded. They tell me that it is a violent death, we have not yet specified what type, but one of the people is seriously injured in Saravena. The other one here in Tame”, declared Villate.

The official also assured that they are supporting the family to expedite the removal of the bodies.

The four victims were identified as Elison Portela, 51, Delvis Arvey, 9, Ángel Julián Estrada, 48, and Briangis Yelina Prada, 4. While the injured are Edwar Felipe Ostos, 9 years old, Durlys Prada, 10, Andreina Laica Peroza, 31, Ingrid Castro, 28, and Felix Arbey Prada Puerta, 41 years old.

The attack occurred on the road that connects Santo Domingo with Puerto Rondón.

Of the other five people who were in the vehicle, it is known that there is a serious wound due to bullet impacts, the others suffered lacerations as a result of the attack.

Some members of this family would be well-known peasants in the region, according to the personero Villate, and they would dedicate themselves to taking care of farms.

At the moment, the hypothesis that the attack would be the work of the FARC dissidents in Arauca is being considered.
