Representative of Kazakhstan Elena Rybakina reached the final of the WTA tournament in American Indian Wells.
In the semi-final, 23-year-old Rybakina, seeded at the tournament under the 10th number, defeated the first racket of the world, the Polish Iga Sviontek, with a score of 6:2, 6:2.
In the decisive match, she will play against the second racket of the world, Arina Sobolenko. The Belarusian in her semi-finals defeated the Greek Maria Sakkari (the seventh number in the WTA rating) with a score of 6:2, 6:3.

Rybakina and Sobolenko met in the Australian Open final this season. Then the representative of Belarus turned out to be stronger.
Swiatek lost more than once in a season to one tennis player for the first time since 2021, when Sakkari and Ons Jaber managed to do this. Rybakina lost only 37 points to the Pole in this meeting, in the matches against Sviontek she lost fewer points to Garbine Muguruza in 2021 (35).
Rybakina was born in Moscow, and in 2018 she received Kazakh citizenship. In 2022, she won Wimbledon, becoming the first representative of Kazakhstan to win a Grand Slam in singles. Now she is ranked 10th in the WTA rankings.
The Indian Wells tournament belongs to the WTA-1000 category, yielding in prestige only to the Grand Slam tournaments and the WTA Finals. The prize fund of the competition is $8.8 million.
The final match will take place on March 19. The bookmaker’s office “Fonbet” accepts bets on the victory of Rybakina with a coefficient of 2.30, Sobolenko – 1.62.
