Music: Alsergrund soul-pop duo “Mencari” released their second single

The young soul-pop duo “Mencari” from Alsergrund recently released their latest single: Sarah Trepte and guitarist Michael Reiter presented the song “sanctuary” at Fania Live am Gurtel.

VIENNA/ALSERGRUND/JOSEFSTADT. It’s never too late to start your dream – Sarah Trepte wants to prove that. The Viennese by choice lives on Alsergrund and decided at the age of 30 to start her long-awaited music project.

This eventually culminated in the soul-pop duo “Mencari”, the Indonesian word for “search”. It now consists of singer Trepte and guitarist Michael Reiter.

The second single

The duo’s second single was recently released – it’s called “sanctuary”. The presentation took place at Fania Live in the 8th district. The song is very much about a personal retreat, as singer Sarah Trepte explained in the course of the release:

I think it’s perfectly fine to seek a little distance after an incisive experience in order to gain room to breathe. I myself have often noticed how good a change of scenery did me in these moments. In times of upheaval, it is particularly important to take care of yourself and do what is best for you. And then give yourself time to recover.

You can now listen to the single on Youtube:

about the project

Mencari consists of Sarah Trepte on vocals and Michael Reiter on guitar. The duo has already performed at Vinyl&Music in the Ottakringer brewery, as well as at Reigen Live and at the Long Night of the Markets. With their first single CHAINS, they were able to draw attention to themselves across borders.

The combination of virtuosic diversity on the guitar and an extraordinary soulful voice takes the listener into an acoustic world with surprising elements. Sometimes loungy-spherical, sometimes rock-inspired – “Soul-Pop Extended” so to speak.
