MV Govindan Calls Anil Antony’s Joining BJP a Disgrace to India and Kerala

In Thiruvananthapuram, the CPM’s state secretary MV Govindan expressed his disappointment with Anil Antony’s decision to join the BJP, stating that it is a disgrace to democracy in Kerala and India. According to Govindan, Congress members can easily switch to the BJP without any boundaries. He also noted that Antony’s move is a reflection of the Congress’ helplessness.

Leaders of the Congress, including Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan and KPCC President K Sudhakaran, did not comment or correct Antony’s pro-BJP statements.

Govindan believes that the BJP and Congress have similar political positions, which makes it easy for members to switch between the two parties. However, the Communist Party and the Left have a different stance from the BJP, strongly opposing their communal and economic policies. The Left can easily include secularists from the Congress who oppose privatization and globalization policies, which harm the public sector and the people.

The BJP government is accused of robbing the people and giving the country’s wealth to the big one percent, such as Adani and Ambani. The Congress was the first to implement these policies, and the BJP continues them. Hence, there is no difference in opinion between the BJP and Congress on economic policies, according to MV Govindan.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary MV Govindan said Anil Antony’s entry into BJP is a disgrace to democratic India and Kerala. There are no boundaries for Congressmen to join BJP. MV Govindan also stated that Antony’s helplessness is the helplessness of the Congress itself.

Antony and the Congress leadership remained silent on Anil’s pro-BJP stance. Neither Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan nor KPCC President K Sudhakaran tried to contradict or correct him on such statements.

It is because the political positions are similar that there is no difficulty in switching from Congress to BJP and rarely from BJP to Congress. BJP and Congress have become a system that can switch back and forth at any moment. This can be seen in the economic stance of the Congress and its stance against communalism.

The CPI-M and the Left have a completely different position from this. The Left strongly opposes the BJP’s communal stance and economic policies. It is not difficult for the Left to include the secularists in Congress who oppose globalization privatization economic policies, policy approaches that sell off public sector enterprises and constantly rob the people.

The BJP government is robbing the people of the country and stealing the wealth and giving India to one percent of the big people. The BJP is adopting the approach of nurturing Adani and Ambani in a way that concentrates forty percent of the country’s wealth in the hands of one percent.

Congress was the first to implement globalization policies in the country. Now BJP is continuing the same policies. Therefore, MV Govindan clarified that there is no difference of opinion between them on economic policies.

In conclusion, the entry of Anil Antony into BJP has caused a stir in Kerala’s political circles. MV Govindan’s statements against Antony and the Congress leadership’s silence on his pro-BJP stance highlight the ease of switching political positions between BJP and Congress. However, the Left’s opposition to BJP’s communal stance and economic policies sets them apart from both BJP and Congress. As we continue to witness the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few, it is imperative that people stand up against policies that rob the masses and benefit only a select few.
