“My wadding was stirred”: Cecilia Bolocco recalled a macho comment she received on Viva el Lunes | TV and Show

Cecilia Bolocco confessed to José Antonio Neme and recalled a macho commentator she received after Viva el Lunes.

Cecilia Boloco She is one of the great faces in the history of Chilean television and paved the way for many other women.

In all those years, the cheerleader lived ups and downs, and this week she remembered what her beginnings were like.

“I came to television after winning Miss Universe, I didn’t have to leave to forge a path or show that I was worth or that I had possibilities”told José Antonio Neme, in Mucho Gusto.

And although the designer also recognized that she was not the victim of excessive machismo on the small screen, she did remember a comment she received while she was the face of Channel 13, in the 90s.

At that time, Bolocco led the trio of animators of live monday, together with Kike Morandé and Álvaro Salas. A very successful conversation and entertainment program.

The macho comment to Cecilia Bolocco

According to Bolocco, in 1995, when the space began, the director of the program, Gonzalo Bertrán – who died in 2001 – made a comment that did not seem correct to him.

“After the first program, he called me at his office, it had gone very well, and he told me… ‘Look Cecilia, it went well for us. She has called me all over the world to congratulate me.’ She was telling me wonderful things and I knew something was coming,” she recounted.

“’All the important women in this country called me to congratulate me for the courage to put a woman in charge of a program with two men. But let me tell you one thing: you can’t be the prettiest and the smartest.”he remembered.

“As if my wadding was stirred”, he acknowledged without delving further into the matter. “Today things have changed, we are talking about the year 95,” she said.

Despite this, Cecilia Bolocco had only good words for Gonzalo Bertrán. “I remember him a lot. He was a great television man and an extraordinary man. He strong, but a big man, deep, intelligent, with a lot of experience, generous to share it,” she said.
