The Hurricanes can get their fifth all-time Conference Finals appearance and their second in the past four seasons (also in 2019, 2009, 2006 and 2002) when their second-round series with the Rangers moves to the Madison Square Garden for the sixth game.

• Carolina, looking to end its five-game road losing streak this season, is 9-0 (1,000) as it leads 3-2 in a seven-game series. This total includes five instances where the overall victory was achieved in Game 6.
• New York went a perfect 3-0 when faced with elimination in the 2022 first round, picking up all three of their wins as they came from behind to close a 3-1 series deficit against Pittsburgh. Two of those wins are part of Rangers’ five-game home win streak.
• Jordan Steel (7-4-11 in 24 GP), whose brother, Marc, played 13 seasons with Rangers from 2007/08 to 2019/20, leads current Hurricanes players in goals and points in career in matches that can lead to victory. • Chris Kreider (13-3-16 in 24 GP) is the current Rangers leading skater in career goals and points when facing elimination, including 3-0-3 in the 2022 first round. Kreider’s 13 goals in games where New York faced elimination are the most in franchise history, while his 16 points rank second behind his former teammate Derick Brassard (7-12-19 and 16 GP).
