A large explosion woke up part of the city last night but its origin is not known. This is the third time in two years.
The police and firefighters investigated these explosion noises in Annecy, without finding anything.

In the night from Sunday to Monday, just after midnight, the sound of a big explosion woke up some of the inhabitants of Annecy (F). The noise was heard even in the neighboring towns of Seynod, Villaz and Les Ollières. The fire alarm center received several worried calls.
According to “The Liberated Dauphine”, the firefighters went to the site of an old swimming pool, at the Marquisats, replaced by a building site. If the barriers that protected it were on the ground, no trace of any explosion. The place has been secured.
Police officers from the nearby police station were also alerted to the explosion, as it shook the walls of their premises. But again, they did not find the cause, while different hypotheses were circulating on social networks, all as unverifiable as each other. No earthquakes were also recorded.
The strangest thing about this story is that this is the third time this has happened in less than two years. A strong explosion was heard shortly before one o’clock in the morning on August 18, 2020 and another on February 16, but in the early evening this time. Without ever discovering its origin.
