According to Enrique Barrera, Samara Nicolle’s father, the baby was in the care of a babysitter when the events occurred.
He remembers that he went out with his wife to do some shopping around 10 in the morning on February 21.
“At 11:45 my wife received a call from the house phone, where the babysitter said that the girl was wrapped in ponchos and was not breathing. “My wife was upset,” Barrera said.
“I entered my house and the police were already inside. The babysitter had the baby in her lap and I told her what happened to my baby, then the paramedics arrived, we put her on the floor so she could be given the respective oxygen; However, they told me that ‘nothing can be done now,'” Barrera added.
Visibly affected, Samara’s father continues with his story. “They (the paramedics) told me that she had been dead for more or less 45 minutes.”
“It is a regrettable, atrocious fact. We as parents want justice to be done. We do not want revenge against that person who carried out such atrocious action with a little angel. She has no fault, she had not done any action, no bad gesture towards someone to have a situation of this nature happen to her,” Barrera said.
Nanny’s Story
However, it was said that the babysitter reported that after the parents left the house, a subject came to the house and supposedly put a cloth in her mouth and she lost consciousness and when she woke up she found Samara dead.
For its part, the National Institute of Forensic Science (Inacif) revealed that the cause of death of the minor was asphyxiation due to suffocation; However, because the case is being prosecuted, they did not delve into the issue.
The Public Ministry (MP) is investigating the death of Samara Nicolle, which occurred last Wednesday, February 21, in a sector of La Comunidad, zone 10 of Mixco, when the discovery of a lifeless baby in a home was reported.
Regarding the nanny who was in charge of the baby, it was revealed that she is a minor, so she was taken in by the Attorney General’s Office (PGN) and through a process she will be handed over to her family.
In addition, it was said that the nanny had been working with the family for more than a month.
