Song icon with more than 300 million albums sold around the world, Nana Mouskouri will be present on the historic stage of the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, on April 26, on the last day of the Paris 2024 Torch Relay in Greece.

A the issue of eleven days of presence in Greececradle of the Games, the Paris 2024 Olympic flame will board the three-masted ship, “White”for a crossing of the Mediterranean which will lead in fine to a docking in the ” Old Port “ from Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) from where she will then begin her journey across mainland France and overseas.

Until then, no less than 600 torchbearers will follow one another in Greece on a route of more than 5,000 kilometers punctuated by 41 municipalities mobilized to welcome the torch for the 2024 Olympics the lighting of which was orchestrated this Tuesday, April 16 in Olympia.

Once this journey has been completed, and before boarding to reach France, the flame will make a final stopover in Athens, and more particularly in the historic setting of the Panathenaic Stadium. One last step for the story.

On April 26, 2024, in the heart of this emblematic monument of the Greek capital, intrinsically linked to the spirit and celebration of the modern Games, the flame will pass from Greece to France during a final passing of the baton. On the Greek side, the meeting will be honored by Ioannis Fountoulis and the members of the men’s national water polo team, silver medalists at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Beyond this symbolic dimension, the close link between Greece and France will also be illustrated by the presentation of the ceremony provided by the Franco-Greek television presenter, Nikos Aliagas – already at work this Tuesday in Olympia – but also by the participation of the world-famous singer and head of a discography with more than 200 albums recorded in more than 60 years of career, Nana Mouskouri.

Under the direction of Dimitris Papadimitriou, the singer from Chania (Crete) will perform the anthem of the two countries for the occasion during the handover ceremony.
