The object, which travels at 8.31 kilometers per second (speed considered low), tIt has a diameter of 220 to 490 meters and is larger than the Empire State Building. Ehe celestial body will be located 6,700,488 kilometers from Earth (17.43 times the distance from the Moon to our planet).
The rock was first seen on February 18, 2015 and is listed as ‘Atira‘ -category used when the asteroid’s orbits are contained within the Earth’s orbit-. This circumstance forces scientists to maintain constant control of the asteroid’s trajectory.
