Basrawi News Encyclopedia – I wrote: Nermin Salem NASA’s “Perseverance” Mars rover has collected its tenth rock sample, while continuing to explore the Red Planet in search of parts of Mars’ soil that may contain traces of past life, and that a future mission may provide to Earth.

According to the American “space” website, NASA shared the image of the sample on the Perseverance account on Twitter, and stated, “Great day for space science! From grand telescope views, to extreme close-ups of Mars samples, with rocky cores barely the size of a pinkie finger.”

Perseverance recently expanded the scope of its missions and began searching for a suitable location where a future sample could be collected. This location would not only provide the future rover that will transport the samples from Mars to Earth with a place to land safely, but also provide a suitable environment to set up the first ever launch pad on a planet other than Earth. .

The mission to return the Mars samples, proposed by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), could launch to the Red Planet in 2028 and pick up samples prepared by perseverance at Jezero Crater.

Perseverance landed on Mars in February 2021, carrying 43 test tubes, 38 of which will be filled with samples. The rover uses a small drill at the end of its robotic arm to extract future rock fragments.
