The Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population sent letters to the health affairs directorates informing the sector of the targeted numbers of children in each age group so that we can take the necessary measures towards providing the needs required to implement a national campaign for vaccination against measles and rubella.

The Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population thanked the Undersecretaries of the Ministry in the governorates for their efforts in improving the preventive services provided in the governorate, coinciding with the efforts of the Egyptian state, represented by the Ministry of Health and Population and the Preventive Medicine Sector, in maintaining the plan of the Expanded Program for Vaccinations by continuing to reduce morbidity and mortality rates for the diseases targeted for vaccination.

Dr. Amr Qandil, Head of the Preventive Medicine Sector, said that the expanded program for vaccinations is considered one of the most important programs of the preventive medicine sector, which aims to protect children from one day to 24 months of age from diseases included in the program, with a vaccination coverage rate exceeding 95%.

He noted that the Ministry’s plan to reach Egypt free of measles and rubella included implementing media programs to raise awareness of the importance of routine vaccinations and vaccination campaigns implemented by the Ministry of Health and Population in various governorates through visual, audio, and social media.
