National coach Patrick Fischer sends four players home

“We spent two valuable weeks together. All the players trained very hard and worked well. This also applies to the four players I had to send home. That’s why the decision wasn’t easy for me,” said national coach Patrick Fischer.

Melvin Nyffeler (SCRJ Lakers) and strikers Joshua Fahrni (SC Bern), Luca Fazzini (HC Lugano) and Jason Fuchs (Lausanne HC) do not make the cut.

As previously announced, Friborg goalie Reto Berra and the two Davos strikers Andres Ambühl and Enzo Corvi will join the team. The three Olympic participants had been given a week’s break after their clubs’ playoff out.

In the third week of preparation, two friendlies against Latvia in Weinfelden are on the program (on Saturday and Sunday). (SDA/yap)
