The National League night saw Freiburg crush Kloten 9-1 and a lucky Geneva beat Langnau 4-2 to become leaders. Lausanne sank 4-0 at home against Rapperswil.
The Dragons quickly made the hole to lead 3-0 at the end of the 1st third. And even when the Airmen reduced the mark in inferiority by Ang (21st), the Fribourgeois quietly waited for the 33rd to register the 4-1 by Mottet. The Zurichers cracked in the third third and Gottéron was able to train his power-play. Three of the last four goals fell while Freiburg evolved in superiority.
Lucky Geneva
At Vernets, Geneva did not deliver a great performance against Langnau. In advance thanks to the 2-1 signed Filppula (46th), the Garnet still suffered the equalizer when they were 5 against 4 by Saarela (55th)! Fortunately, 3 minutes later it was Le Coultre who was able to score the winning goal, again when the Genevans were one less on the ice.
This 4th success in a row allows Jan Cadieux’s men to take the lead with 14 points.
