Philippe Furrer played the heroes during Act III between Friborg and Lausanne. The Bernese defender, who scored just once in the regular season, netted the 3-2 winner for the Dragons in the 105th minute.
Furrer, excellent in this series, overflowed on the left then feinted Genazzi who lay down before beating Boltshauser with a backhand between the legs. A goal fell after 104’58 of play and when Lausanne had benefited from a power-play just before. But the people of Lausanne have once again shown sterility in this area.
Before this conclusion, we saw an LHC which got itself into trouble by suffering 2 penalties almost in quick succession. With more than 90 seconds in double numerical superiority and given the quality of their power-play, it was written that the Fribourgeois were going to open the scoring. They even did better since after the 1-0 in the 12th on a very nice shot from Sprunger, the Dragons doubled the lead in the 13th to 5 against 4 thanks to DiDomenico, superbly served by Desharnais.
Bertschy had equalized at 2-2
With their 2-goal handicap, the Lausannois closed the game. And since their numerically tied game is not going that badly, that’s how they came back to score via Krakauskas in the 27th minute.
It was then one of the Lausanne stars who managed the equalizer in the 44th minute. Perfectly served by Bozon, Bertschy was able to beat Berra. Marchon had a puck on goal, as did Paré in the first overtime. But Sutter’s cane saved Gottéron. Then Furrer made it 3-2…
