National League Play-Offs: Sanctions and Suspensions Update

Sanctions are raining down in the National League play-offs. Tim Bozon, Cody Almond, Nico Gross, Michael Hügli and Patrik Nemeth are suspended.

Lausanne will have to cope without Tim Bozon, Cody Almond and Michael Hügli on Monday evening at home for the 5th act of the play-offs against Davos. Punished by two match penalties for fights on Saturday evening in Graubünden, Tim Bozon received a partial suspension and a fine of 1,500 francs.

During the same match, Cody Almond charged Davyd Barandun in the head. Canada-Switzerland is provisionally suspended for a match and a procedure is open. In the same match, Joakim Nordström and Andrea Glauser were retroactively punished with a match penalty, while Jiri Sekac must pay a fine of 2,550 francs for the knee strike which earned him a match penalty .

Guilty of an elbow to Chris Egli’s head on Thursday evening during Act III, Michael Hügli received a two-match suspension and a fine of 2,550 francs. Hügli has already served a one-match suspension.

In the Zug-Berne series too, the debates are lively. Thus defender Patrik Nemeth was punished for two matches following a sweep (‘slew-footing’) and a blow with the tip of the cane against Zougois Andreas Eder during Act III on Thursday. Nemeth has also already served a one-match suspension and the fine amounts to 4,270 francs.

Zug defender Nico Gross is suspended for one match following a charge with the stick against Bernese Benjamin Baumgartner during the fourth duel on Saturday evening. Added to this is a fine of 1000 francs.
